F1 Championship Standings Screensaver
The F1 Championship Standings screensaver shows real live Formula 1 driver and constructor points for the current season, with a countdown to the next real race. It is free, runs in your browser, and ESC exits.
How the F1 Championship Standings screensaver works
The saver fetches real live driver and constructor standings for the current Formula 1 season.
Points, wins and real team names update automatically as each real race in the calendar is completed.
A countdown ticks down to the next real scheduled race.
No key is required — the data comes from a free, public Formula 1 results API.
How Formula 1 awards its championships
Formula 1 runs two titles at once. The Drivers’ Championship goes to the individual with the most points across a season, and the Constructors’ Championship goes to the team whose two drivers score the most combined, since a team’s total is the sum of both drivers’ points. A team can win one without the other, and both sets of standings are shown here.
Points are awarded to the top ten finishers in a Grand Prix: 25 for a win, then 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 and 1. The scale has changed over the sport’s history. A point for the fastest lap was awarded from 2019 to 2024 and discontinued for 2025, and a driver must complete at least 90% of the winner’s distance to score. Sprint races carry their own smaller scoring in seasons that use them.
If drivers finish level on points, the FIA compares finishing positions: more wins first, then more second places, and so on down the order. Standings can change after a race has finished, since penalties or disqualifications may alter a result. Because the display is a snapshot of a season in progress, an early leader may not be the eventual champion.
A worked example
After a real race weekend, the leading driver's real point total and gap to second place update automatically the next time the standings refresh.

- Is a key needed?
- No. The standings come from a free, key-less public Formula 1 results API.
- How often does it update?
- It refreshes automatically; standings only change after each real race.

- Yes — free, no download, in your browser.
- How are tied drivers separated in the standings?
- By comparing finishing positions: more wins first, then more second places, and so on down the order.
