How the Professional Dota, As It Finishes screensaver works
The saver reads the source described above and draws it on a canvas — no account, no tracking.
Recent professional Dota 2 matches from OpenDota, read live and key-less. The score is kills, not objectives — a team can lose the kill count badly and still win, because the game ends when the Ancient falls and nothing else counts.
It refreshes on a schedule, so what you see stays current.
Colours and any options can be changed in settings; nothing is stored beyond your own browser.
Why kills do not decide a Dota game
Dota 2, published by Valve, is a team game in which two sides of five, the Radiant and the Dire, fight across a map to destroy the opposing base's Ancient. OpenDota is an open-source Dota 2 data platform, started in 2014, that combines match data from Valve's Steam Web API with automated parsing of replay files.
The score shown is the kill count, which is easy to read but only one measure of a game. A match is won by destroying the Ancient, not by out-killing the other team, and a side can trade heavily in fights while the other quietly takes towers, farms gold or splits the map to push. That is why a team can lose the kill tally badly and still win, and why the saver reports who finished ahead on kills without implying the result.
Professional matches appear only after they finish, and the list covers only games the data provider has recorded, so some events can be missing or late. Because the score is a kill count, a short game will naturally show low kill totals regardless of which side won.
