Podcast Charts Screensaver
The Podcast Charts screensaver scrolls through today's real top-podcasts chart — rank and show name — drawn live and key-less from Apple's official public charts feed. It's free, runs in your browser, and ESC exits.
How the Podcast Charts screensaver works
The saver fetches Apple's official public top-podcasts chart for your chosen region, with no key required.
Each show scrolls through in rank order with its name.
The full chart refreshes daily, matching how often the real chart itself updates.
Choose from a handful of regional charts.
What a podcast chart measures
Apple Podcasts publishes ranked lists of the shows that are most popular in each country. Apple says the charts reflect what is popular in a given market and are not all-time listening records, and that they weigh a mix of listening, follows and completion rate. The exact formula is not public, and Apple has said ratings, reviews and shares are not part of it, so the chart is not a simple count of downloads.
Charts are produced per storefront, so a show can be number one in one country and absent in another. The list covers shows in Apple's directory and does not include listening on other platforms such as Spotify, YouTube or direct RSS apps. Because many people use those, a chart is a regional snapshot of one ecosystem, not an industry-wide audience ranking.
The name listed with each show is the creator information supplied in the show's feed. That can be a network, a newspaper or a single host, and it sometimes differs from how the show is credited elsewhere.
A worked example
Set it to United States and the current real #1 show leads the scroll — the same official ranking Apple publishes, not a curated list.

Frequently asked questions
- Is a key needed?
- No. Apple's public charts feed is free and key-less.
- How often does the chart change?
- Daily, matching Apple's own real update cadence.
- Which podcasts are ranked?
- Apple's own real, official top-podcasts ranking for the region you choose.
- Is it free?
- Yes — free, no download, in your browser.
- Is the chart based on downloads?
- Apple does not publish its formula. It says the charts reflect listening, follows and completion rate in a market, and that ratings, reviews and shares are not factored in.
- Why does a show appear in one region but not another?
- Each storefront has its own chart, so local language, interests and listening habits make charts differ between countries.
- Does being ranked mean a show is the most listened to?
- Not necessarily. The chart is not an all-time listening record and covers only Apple Podcasts, so it shows what is popular there in that market.
