About OpenLigaDB and the Bundesliga calendar

OpenLigaDB is a free community project: an open database for entering and retrieving sports results, with a JSON API aimed mainly at hobby programmers who want results for tipping games, statistics apps or websites. Registered users create and maintain leagues and enter match results, and reading the data needs no authentication, which is why small projects often draw on it rather than on a commercial data supplier.

The Bundesliga is Germany’s top men’s league, contested by eighteen clubs over thirty-four matchdays, so every club plays every other twice, home and away. Matchdays are spread across several days of a week, which is why the list can jump from finished scores to future kick-offs within a single screen.

Because results are entered by contributors rather than fed automatically from the stadium, a finished match may briefly show without its score, and late reschedulings can lag. Kick-off times are shown as published in the database, so check which time zone you are reading before planning around one.
